What NewTechWood is
Capped composite, made from 95% recycled material
NewTechWood is a wood-plastic composite: recycled wood fibre and recycled high-density polyethylene, extruded into a board and then fully capped on every surface, including the groove the clip sits in. The capping is the product. It is what stops the board fading under Perth UV, staining under the barbecue and holding moisture in a winter, and it is why the boards never need oiling, sanding or painting.
NewTechWood is distributed in Australia through a supplier network rather than sold direct. Integrity supplies it in Perth, without a showroom and without a yard: the order is priced from your area and your range, and it arrives on site with the clips and the framing on the same delivery.
NewTechWood decking
The six NewTechWood decking ranges, and which one to order
The Perth distributor pages that outrank each other on this brand name never tell you what separates Avenue from Terrace. This does.
| Range | What NewTechWood says it is | When we would pick it |
|---|---|---|
| Avenue | The budget-friendly board. NewTechWood's own words: value for money without giving up the capping. | Big decks on a number, rentals, the second deck. |
| Soho | 25mm profile on a 450mm span. BAL 29. Merbau, Grey Ironbark and Blonde Oak. 15-year warranty. | Entry-level with the fire rating, on standard joist centres. |
| Terrace | The solid composite board, residential and commercial. NewTechWood calls it the best composite decking board in Australia. | The default. Most Perth alfrescos. |
| Coastal | 210mm wide with a deep, weathered texture. | Wide-board looks, coastal and Hamptons homes. |
| Marina | Built for marina and waterfront exposure: salt air, constant water, heavy foot traffic. | Jetties, pool surrounds, the ocean-facing deck. |
| Commercial | The commercial range, on the 10-year commercial warranty. | Hospitality, public and multi-residential. |
Range descriptions are NewTechWood's own, from newtechwood.com.au at the date above. Every decking range carries the 25-year limited residential warranty unless stated, conditional on the recommended clip system and joist spacing.
Colours. Antique, Blackbutt, Teak, Ipe, Walnut, Silver Grey, Beech, Aged Wood, Canadian Cedar, Ebony and Sea Salt across the decking ranges, with each range carrying its own subset. The colours are multi-chromatic, built to vary board to board like real timber, which is why NewTechWood tells you to lay boards out from several packs and mix them before fixing.
Fire. NewTechWood decking is rated BAL 29 for bushfire-prone areas, and the Soho range states it on the product. Confirm the report for the exact range with the order.
NewTechWood cladding
Shadowline and Castellation cladding
Two cladding profiles, in the same capped composite as the boards. Shadowline reads as a flat board with a shadow gap between courses; Castellation is the ribbed, three-dimensional profile that runs vertically or horizontally and doubles as a ceiling and screening finish. Both are CodeMark certified and come in NewTechWood's timber tones such as Blackbutt, Teak and Ipe, with the colour list varying by profile, on a hidden-fix system that holds the boards off the wall so the cavity behind them breathes and drains.
The honest line: NewTechWood states that its cladding does not have a BAL bushfire rating. On a rated lot the deck can be NewTechWood and the wall needs a different system, which we also supply. We will tell you that at the enquiry, not after the certifier does.
The rest of the NewTechWood range
Screening, fencing, tiles and everything under the deck
Composite screening and fencing
Privacy screens, battens and fence panels in the same capped composite and the same colours as the deck, so the alfresco, the screen and the boundary match.
DIY deck tiles and NIVO pedestals
Interlocking composite deck tiles for balconies and courtyards, and NIVO adjustable pedestals for a deck over a slab or a membrane, with the drainage and ventilation a composite board needs.
Clips, framing and fascia
Starter clips, Hidden Fix clips, the NewTechWood deck framing system or timber joists to suit, fascia boards and colour-matched screws. The warranty depends on the clips and the centres, so they go on the order with the boards.

Straight answers
NewTechWood in Perth, the questions we get asked
If yours is not here, send it through and you will get an answer from the person who prices the orders.
Is NewTechWood any good?
It is the composite most Perth builders reach for first, and for two reasons that hold up: every board is fully capped, including the groove, so it does not fade, stain or hold moisture the way an uncapped board does, and the warranty behind that is 25 years limited residential. The catch is in the small print: the warranty depends on the recommended clip system and joist spacing, so the frame matters as much as the board.
Does NewTechWood get hot?
Every deck gets hot in a Perth January and darker boards get hotter. NewTechWood does not publish a surface-temperature figure, so the honest advice is the same as for any composite: pick a lighter tone for a north- or west-facing deck the family walks on barefoot, and put some shade over the afternoon side. As on any deck, the lighter tones such as Antique and Silver Grey will sit cooler underfoot than Ebony or Walnut.
Is NewTechWood fire-rated or BAL-rated?
The decking is rated BAL 29, and NewTechWood states this on its own Perth page for bushfire-prone areas. The cladding is a different answer: NewTechWood states that its cladding does not have a BAL bushfire rating. On a rated lot, the deck can be NewTechWood and the wall needs a different system. Ask for the report for the exact range before it goes on the schedule.
How much does NewTechWood cost in Perth?
It depends on the range (Avenue and Soho sit under Terrace, Coastal and Marina sit above it), the board width, the frame it needs and the size of the job. We do not publish a per-board rate, because a board price without the clips and the joists is not a deck price. Send the area and the range and you get one number for the lot.
What is the difference between the NewTechWood decking ranges?
Avenue is the budget board. Soho is the 25mm entry-level board with BAL 29 on a 450mm span. Terrace is the solid all-rounder for residential and commercial. Coastal is 210mm wide with a weathered texture. Marina is built for waterfront exposure. Commercial carries the commercial warranty. The table on this page has the detail, and we will tell you which one fits the job before you order.
What colours does NewTechWood come in?
Decking: Antique, Blackbutt, Teak, Ipe, Walnut, Silver Grey, Beech, Aged Wood, Canadian Cedar, Ebony and Sea Salt, with colours varying by range. Cladding: a shorter list per profile, led by Blackbutt, Teak and Ipe. The colours are multi-chromatic, so NewTechWood recommends laying boards out from several packs before fixing to mix the variation the way real timber does.
Do you supply NewTechWood cladding and screening as well as decking?
Yes. Shadowline and Castellation cladding, composite screening and fencing, DIY deck tiles, NIVO pedestals and the deck framing system all come through the one account, so a deck, the wall behind it and the privacy screen beside it are one order and one delivery.
Where can I buy NewTechWood in Perth?
NewTechWood sells through its supplier network rather than direct, and Integrity Building Materials supplies it in Perth, supply only, delivered to site. There is no showroom. Send the area and the range and the order is priced with the clips and framing on the same list.
