Bushfire-rated (BAL) entrance doors and frames
A lot in a bushfire-prone area needs the door to carry the same rating as the wall. Hume makes two bushfire ranges: Bush Fire Resistant doors that comply with the BAL12.5, BAL19 and BAL29 criteria in AS 3959, and a BAL40 range tested and approved to BAL40. Both use 6mm tempered safety glass.
The detail that catches people out: the BAL19 and BAL29 doors keep their rating only when ordered with their Hume frame, and the BAL40 product is a complete door and frame system. So the frame is not an optional extra on a BAL job. Put the BAL level on the schedule and we price the door and frame as the one item the certifier will want to see.

Internal doors

Internal doors are where the volume is on a house lot, and where a range decision early saves a lot of grief later. Hume's Moulded Panel doors in Smooth or Woodgrain are the workhorse: pre-primed, non-solid as standard, solid construction on request, with the 2340mm-high Ascot option for taller ceilings. Sorrento is the deluxe primed moulded door. Accent and Accent Premium are the flush, minimalist option, with Accent Premium carrying a 6mm primecoat skin. Humecraft is the solid-construction door with bi-fold options.
Above that, Hampton and Bayview bring glazed panels, Luxe is the engineered shaker, Linear Internal comes in timber or painted finishes, Strata is primed for painting with an optional metallic strip, and Joinery Internal is premium timber with glass panels for the rooms that get seen.

Cavity units, bi-folds and barn doors
Where the plan calls for a sliding door in the wall, Hume's Evolution Complete Cavity Unit is ordered with the door leaf so the pocket, track and jambs arrive together. The Bi-fold Interior Folding System does the same for robes and laundries. Frontier barn doors come in Standard and Ultimate shaker-style versions, and the track and fittings are sold separately, so they go on the hardware schedule rather than the door schedule. Door frames and jambs, sized to the wall
A door without its frame is a problem for the carpenter. Hume Weatherguard frames and standard entry frames for external doors, bushfire-resistant frames for BAL work, and jambs sized to your wall thickness for the internal doors are all priced on the same order as the doors themselves.
The same goes for the finishing timber around them. Hume architraves, skirting, DAR and primed mouldings come from the same supplier, so the door schedule and the timber and mouldings order can travel together and land on site in the same week.

For commercial doors, fire doors and anything that has to close itself every time, we supply dormakaba closers. The TS 93 and TS 98 XEA slide-channel closers, the TS 90 Impulse, the ITS 96 concealed closer for doors where the hardware should disappear, and BTS floor springs for double-action doors. The easy-open versions are built for barrier-free access, which matters on aged care, schools and any building with an accessibility requirement.

We work with the architect and the site team to write a hardware schedule that meets the spec and the budget. Then every door's hardware is boxed on its own, labelled with the door number, and delivered with a clear list of what is in each box.
The result on site: the carpenter opens box D07 and finds the lever, latch, hinges and stop for door D07. No blame game between supplier and installer over what was and was not delivered, no van run to a showroom for the one privacy set that was missed, and no replacements bought at retail on a Friday afternoon.

Yes. Hume makes entrance doors tested to BAL12.5, BAL19 and BAL29 under AS 3959, and a BAL40 door and frame system. The BAL19 and BAL29 doors have to be ordered with their Hume frame to keep the rating, so tell us the BAL level on the schedule and we price the door and frame together.
Do the frames come with the doors?
They can, and for external doors they should. Hume Weatherguard and standard entry frames, bushfire-resistant frames and Evolution cavity units are ordered alongside the doors so the whole opening arrives as one package. Tell us your wall thickness and we size the jambs to suit.
Can the door hardware match across the whole house?
Yes. Zanda carries the same finish across levers, pull handles, privacy sets, stops and closers, so one finish runs from the front door to the last cupboard. Pick from Ember Bronze, Matt Black, Brushed Nickel, Satin Brass, Graphite Nickel, Satin Chrome or Stainless Steel and we schedule everything in it.
